Diary, poetry, and notes on various texts kept by Rev. Joseph Sewall of Boston, Mass. The diary, kept from 15 Nov. 1711 - 30 July 1716 notes years (to 1713) living at Harvard College and his first years as an assistant at Boston's Old South Church (Third). Includes notes on spiritual contemplation and prayers, a record of his preaching first on a circuit basis and later at the Old South, and his acceptance and ordination there. Also, a few leaves of poetry and misc. notes (1703); and notes on various texts kept as a student at Harvard (Class of 1707) and immediately after (1707-08).
